Katrina Kaif on a roll as one of the most successful actresses in Bollywood has stirred up anxiety in many quarters as she announced plans about revealing the secrets of Hindi film industry in a book, which she plans to write.
Starting out with ‘Boom’, in 2003, Katrina has come a long way after the initial hiccups about her accent, acting and dancing skills met with severe criticism.
Having gone through a roller coaster ride, with many up and downs in the industry, she refused to reveal beforehand as to how she handled the Hindi film world so successfully to which she actually was an outsider.
“I educated myself but I might write a book, so I won’t waste the answer now. I seriously might write a book,” Katrina said to PTI news agency.
Many of her films like Ek Tha Tiger (2012), its sequel Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) and Doom 3 (2013) have had a run at the box-office, and are counted among some of the highest grossers in the film industry.
In a career spanning 15 years, however, she has also seen low phases where her films did not click with the audiences. Katrina counts the setbacks as stepping stones for her success.
“You need to have a balanced attitude to life, need to accept that failures, hardships and hard times – for me definitely – they are the biggest teachers. They are the biggest steps. Once you get there, then you reach higher. You need them. Hardships and failures taught me to evolve and reach the next step,” says Katrina.
“I am constantly trying to educate myself by reading about peoples’ journeys, taking care of my mind and making sure I am evolving as a person and not just accepting whatever thoughts come to my mind,” she adds.
Born as Katrina Turquotte on 16th July, 1983 in Hong Kong, she lived with her family, consisting of mother Suzanne and seven siblings in London before moving to India.
On entering the film industry, she changed her surname to Kaif. Katrina personal life has been of much media speculation but the actress is guarded about it.
